I believe that all of us at one time or another has experienced starting over in something in our life. Even since the beginning of man we have had to begin again in a myriad of life situations and circumstances. Beginning again is just a component of what makes us who we are and helps us to build strength within our character and personality. Isn’t God great? Even through the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden, God still had a plan to help us begin again!

Think back to your life and look at the innumerable times each of us have had to begin something again. Even at a young age, it could be learning how to walk, talk, eat, dress, or read. Maybe it had affected you in other ways later in life like to rebuild your finances, family, home, or health. Some of you may have had to begin again living a pure life or just begin to live with or without something or someone.

I can think back to the time when I first heard of Jesus Christ as my Savior. I was arriving at my brother and sister in-law's home and as I pulled up in the driveway, I saw them through the front window sitting at the kitchen table. It was at that time as I sat down with them that they told me about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but, I did not receive him at that time. I left without him that day. Then, later that year I was approached by a man on the street with a sign that said “Jesus Saves” but I did not ask how.

A third time I was witnessed to by a friend from my high school and he spoke to me about the Lord and his saving grace but, I did not receive him then either. Time passed and a friend I was serving with in the Marine Corp overseas shared Jesus with me and still I did not make a decision to accept.

It was years later that a young man living next door to me at my apartment, continued to pursue me with Bible tracts every day and would not stop. Fighting this constant witness over and over, I decided to go to his church looking to confront him and instead, God confronted me and I receive Christ as my Lord and Savior that day.

God continued to allow me to begin again and again and again as he pursued me with his love for me. Isn’t it amazing how the Grace and Mercy of God is so present and sustaining that he continues to help us to begin again?

You may be beginning again with something going on in your life or you may be part of someone else’s beginning. As we start each day let’s think of; Isn’t it the most wonderful gift that God reaches out time and time again into our lives, pursuing our love towards him and if we don’t receive it, if we don’t respond to it, He begins again!

Now, it is our gift from God to help someone
