I was thinking about the world we live in and our daily life. Many times, through life we are confronted with situations and life moments we must confront. Some of these are created by us and some come across our path and we just have to pick up the pieces where they are laid before us.

These times may be connected to work, family, medical, or just everyday circumstances when we have to dig deep and PUSH our way through them. Maybe you are carrying your burden or someone else’s burden too much, too far, or too long, when you shouldn’t be carrying it to begin with.

Jesus never told us that our life would be easy. In fact, He told us that there would be persecution and trials while we are walking on this earth and walking with Him. His answer to us was that He would walk with us daily.

How many times have you been at one of these moments and wondered "How am I going to get through this?" Is there another way out or can I put this off for one more day or just one more hour? I’m tired; I’m very tired and want some relief or rest.

Usually, we just PUSH our way through it no matter how tired we are or how much stress it may cause. We just carry it a little longer thinking that it may get easier or lighter.

Sometimes the load seems too much to bear, so we pull the load off our back and set it down for a while. Other times we know the weight is unbearable, but we dig deep and PUSH on through it.

All this time we are consumed with the load and how much longer we must carry it. The question seems to come to all of us at one time or another: How do we get beyond this weight? How to get beyond our PUSH?

I have to go to the hospital each week to receive blood transfusions for treatment of my leukemia. Yesterday, I was weak mentally and physically and was in one of those moments and I just had enough of just PUSH through it! Do I give up?

How do you just give up? Sure, I had many thoughts going through my mind like, it’s not all about you, others are depending on you, others have gone through much worse than this, come on, you can’t just quit! I just wanted some peace, even if it was for a brief moment.

The question we must ask ourselves is "Where is God during these times or ever more important where have we brought God into this?" Have we even asked for His help or just assumed He is doing all He can? Have we stopped and invite Him into our PUSH or are we just figuring it’s our PUSH, we created it or picked it up, so it’s on us.

Did you know that He wants to be involved in our lives all the time as long as we are striving to live with Him and for Him? He doesn’t think to PUSH through it, His plan is to PUSH things out of the way so we can walk on even ground or not stumble over something in our path. That is the only PUSH He has in mind.

So, going back to the first question: How do we get beyond PUSH? The answer is RECEIVE! Stop and receive His spirit, receive His word, receive His Mercy and Grace. Just stop PUSHing for a moment. Close your eyes, invite Him in, and RECEIVE

It’s not that the weight you are carrying will always be lifted or removed, it’s your PUSH that God is looking for to intercede for you.

So, take a moment and PUSH yourself out of the way and PULL Him in!

2 Samuel 22:33
God [is] my strength [and] power, And He makes my way perfect.

Isaiah 40:29
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Psalms 28:7
The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.

How do we get beyond “PUSH”?
