Sometimes in our life we come to a place that seems to be too great to overcome or just too far apart from what we feel we can reach. It’s a bridge that separates us from whatever God has confronted us with. Whether it is fear or laps in our faith it stands before us as a test in time for us to walk with God. Looking at your bridge, what lies before you usually involves someone else, someone in need.
The bridge could be a family member or a close friend, maybe for salvation, an extended arm to greet someone, an act of forgiveness, a loving word or phrase spoken or could be in a letter or phone call. It will start with an act of faith and prayer calling out to God to open a heart or a door to someone’s heart.

As you look at your bridge, the valley or divide may be too great to vision it completed. You may say: It’s too far! There is too big of a gap! Just think, what if that was said when it came to building the bridge to you.
Pursuing the task with the tools you have like the word of God, your prayers, faith, his spirit, and the hand of God will keep you going, keep you building. As you build this bridge to someone, at the same time you’re strengthening your own bridge so that others can cross safely.
It’s not that there may not be delays, obstacles or interference while building your bridge, but if you ask for help, God will send it, sometimes with others to carry the load. The important thing is that you build it and complete it and cross it.
Think of that person on the other side of the bridge. Maybe waiting for someone to build a bridge to them or they have no idea that someone is building a bridge to them or for them. Most times we would want someone to meet us halfway, but we must be willing to go all the way over to meet them were they are.
Just think of the day that your bridge is finish and you cross over to greet the person on the other side. What joy you will receive from God that you have been faithful to complete this one bridge with him by your side. It will encourage others to build a bridge that they have always thought impossible, too far or too great of a gap.
When facing your bridge to someone, think of this; I was out for dinner the other night and at the restaurant in the front lobby area I saw a large wooden bear. It was carved out with a chainsaw. As I stood there and studied it, I thought to myself how awesome it must be to see the finished product before it's carved out, before he even makes the first cut. You see, the carver must be able to envision the final piece prior to even beginning to carve it.
This is what God sees in all of us. What’s inside us, what we can be, he sees what is waiting on the other side of the bridge. I believe that God wants us to see what is inside others, the finished product that God has created.
We will always have bridges to build in our lives. Maybe God is asking you to take the first step then walk across your bridge to share his love and saving grace with someone. So, they can see why this bridge was built!
When your faith is tested, this is when courage is at your fingertips. Take hold of God by his hand and receive his courage, then just do the most important thing;
